Leadership Advisory & Executive Coaching
Coaching Ritual brings together organisational psychology, leadership advisory and human development to support senior leaders navigating complexity, strengthening their impact, and leading more effectively and authentically.
The practice
Growth does not arrive in a moment. It accumulates. This work is the practice of that accumulation.
On ritual
Ritual is not ceremony. Across more than 100,000 years of human history, through ancient philosophy, contemplative traditions, and rites of passage on every continent, the deliberate practice of turning inward has been understood as one of the most essential forms of growth.
Modern neuroscience confirms it: we are wired for this. Consistent, intentional self-reflection changes the brain. The pathways governing clarity, emotional intelligence and purposeful action deepen with each deliberate return. Growth does not arrive all at once. It accumulates.
Coaching Ritual is named for this understanding. The most significant development does not happen in a single session or a moment of insight. It emerges through the sustained practice of returning to yourself: to what matters, to how you lead, and to who you are becoming.
The Approach
The most effective leaders understand themselves, understand others, and understand the systems in which they operate. That understanding is not arrived at once. It is cultivated through consistent, rigorous self-examination. Sustainable leadership is not about becoming someone different. It is about developing the awareness, capability and confidence to lead more intentionally, effectively and authentically.
Every engagement is tailored to the leader's unique context and goals. There is no generic formula. Only a rigorous, reflective process built around what is needed most.
Drawing on organisational psychology, leadership science and behavioural research, the work is grounded without being formulaic. Frameworks and assessments are brought in where they add genuine value, complementing the conversation rather than driving it. The person always comes before the process.
Insight is only valuable if it changes behaviour. The focus is on translating awareness into action, shifting unproductive patterns and aligning intent with real-world impact.
Leadership challenges are rarely just capability challenges. They are often identity challenges. Confidence, influence, belonging, resilience, courage. The work engages the whole person, not only the role.
The realities of senior leadership, performance pressure, stakeholder complexity, organisational politics, change, growth, competing priorities, are central to the work, not incidental to it.

About Gaby
Gaby Leighton has spent over 15 years in organisational psychology, leadership advisory and executive coaching. She works with leaders across the full range of experience: from those stepping into leadership for the first time and building the foundations of how they lead, to senior executives making high-stakes decisions and leading at scale. Her work spans executive coaching, leadership assessment, leadership transitions and organisational development, with clients across the corporate, government and not-for-profit sectors.
Drawing on more than 1,000 coaching hours and extensive experience in leadership consulting, she helps leaders gain deeper insight into how they think, relate and operate, turning that understanding into practical, lasting change. Prior to founding Coaching Ritual in 2022, Gaby spent seven years with YSC Consulting, a global organisational psychology firm, working with leaders across a broad range of industries and geographies. Earlier in her career, she worked across organisational consulting and in-house people and culture roles, building a broad grounding in how individuals, teams and organisations develop.
Known for balancing support with challenge, Gaby creates the conditions for honest reflection, direct feedback and genuine development. Clients describe her as grounded, perceptive and pragmatic: someone who helps them think more clearly, act more deliberately, and lead with greater confidence and impact.
Real leadership development is not linear. It happens in the sustained practice of returning to what you value, to how you lead, and to the honest question of whether the two are aligned.
Client Voices
Gaby has the ability of letting you speak at length, asking powerful questions and sharing her reflections and insights thoughtfully. She is caring but also pushes me when I need it. By the end of our sessions, I always feel so clear, understood and energised.
Senior Leader, Financial Services
I came into this sceptical. I wanted outcomes, not process. What I got was a structured, no-nonsense approach with real accountability between sessions. Gaby gave me concrete frameworks I could apply immediately and pushed me to question assumptions I had held for years. She does not let you off the hook. My thinking is sharper and my results reflect it.
General Manager, Resources Sector
Thank you Gaby for holding the space for me to dig deep, to think out loud and to share so vulnerably without fear of judgement. It was this that helped me really tap into my inner resilience to navigate some of the most challenging times for my leadership. I also really appreciated the helpful strategies and frameworks that I still use to keep me accountable.
Executive Leader, Corporate Sector
I just love my sessions with Gaby and feel such a sense of relief off the back of the discussions. She is understanding, a great listener and really pushes me to look at myself in the mirror.
Director, Government Sector
I came to Gaby with a team performance problem, not a personal development agenda. She helped me see quickly that the two were connected. Her read on the dynamics at play was sharp, her feedback was direct, and the work was practical from the first session. Within a few months the team had shifted. I had not expected coaching to have that kind of reach.
Vice President, Resources Sector
Working with Gaby was incredibly valuable and worthwhile. Her deep knowledge, unwavering support and practical guidance gave me the courage to face my weaknesses and to build my confidence, helping me to become the best leader that I can be. I felt heard and empowered thanks to her coaching and I can't recommend Gaby enough.
